Le poids (12 kilos) est relié à une poignée par une courte chaîne. L’athlète pivote deux ou trois fois avant le lancement dans le style du marteau olympique. Cette épreuve élégante permet parfois de découvrir ce que les lanceurs portent sous leur kilt. Plus sérieusement, le record du monde est actuellement détenu par Gregor Edmunds (Ecosse) avec 29,21 m ! Pfff même pas 30m !
[Weight for distance] The weight (12 kilos) have a handled attached by a chain. The athlete rotates two or three times before throwing the weight, just like the hammer throw in the Olympics. This stylish event allows sometimes to discover what the throwers wear under their kilts. More seriously, the world record is currently held by Gregor Edmunds (Scotland) with 29.21 m !
